Before you start shopping, it's essential to understand the differences between virgin, Remy, and non-Remy hair, as each has its own qualities and price points.

  • Virgin hair is the highest quality since it is completely unprocessed and comes from a single donor, meaning it has never been colored, permed, or chemically treated. The hair cuticles are intact and aligned in one direction, giving it a natural look and long-lasting durability.

  • Remy hair is also of high quality, though it may have undergone some light processing, such as coloring or texturizing. The key characteristic of Remy hair is that its cuticles remain intact and aligned in the same direction, which minimizes tangling and ensures a smooth and silky texture, even with light treatments.

  • Non-Remy hair, on the other hand, is generally lower in quality. It is collected from multiple sources and typically doesn't have the cuticles aligned in the same direction, which leads to more tangling and matting. This type of hair is often chemically treated to mask its lower quality and may not last as long as Remy or virgin hair.
