Hair Systems and Sun Exposure: Sunscreen, UV, and Color Fading

Sunscreen and sun exposure raise practical questions for hair system wearers, especially around the hairline area. Here's what actually matters.
Applying Sunscreen Near the Hairline
Oil-based sunscreens can weaken adhesive bond if applied directly on or very close to the bonded edge. Use mineral or water-based sunscreens near the hairline, and apply carefully to avoid the adhesive zone itself.
Sun Damage to the Hair Fiber
Like natural hair, human hair systems can experience some UV damage and color fading with prolonged sun exposure. Hats or UV-protectant hair sprays help preserve color longevity.
Beach Days and Extended Sun Exposure
Combine sun protection with water exposure considerations (swimming, sweating) for beach days: strong adhesive, careful sunscreen application, and rinsing after swimming.
Scalp Protection Under the Base
Areas without hair coverage (if any) still need normal sun protection, just as any exposed skin would.
Long-Term Color Preservation
For systems exposed to regular sun (outdoor workers, frequent beach-goers), expect slightly more frequent color touch-ups or replacement compared to primarily indoor wear.
