Hair Systems and Extreme Activities: Skydiving, Bungee Jumping, and More
Share
Skydiving, bungee jumping, roller coasters, and other extreme experiences put unusual stress on a hair system. Here's what actually happens.
Freefall and Wind Force
Skydiving involves extreme wind speeds (120+ mph in freefall) that exceed typical daily wind exposure by a huge margin. Fresh, maximum-hold adhesive is essential, and many experienced wearers report success with proper preparation.
G-Force Activities
Roller coasters and bungee jumping involve strong forces but for much shorter durations than skydiving. Standard strong-hold adhesive handles these well.
Preparation for Extreme Activities
- Apply fresh adhesive 24-48 hours before the activity, never same-day
- Use maximum-hold formulas (GhostBond Supreme, Walker Signature)
- Consider a light head covering during freefall specifically for skydiving
Realistic Expectations
While most systems handle even extreme activities well with proper preparation, activities involving 100+ mph wind are genuinely at the edge of what any adhesive is tested for. It's reasonable to accept some small risk for a truly extreme activity, the same way you'd accept minor cosmetic risk with any adventure activity.
